Today, the new museum which opened in May 2019, exists as an elegant, three-storey structure. The building was designed by Junichiro Kawazoe, who won a Gold Award in the Architecture category for Design of Museums, Exhibits, Pavilions and Exhibitions at the International Design Awards in 2019 for his design of the new Glenbarra Art Museum.
